Sticky Chocolate Cake with Salted Caramel Sauce

I have to confess, I’m a huge chocolate fan. I know for sure that there are a lot of fellow addicts out there, and I promise this won’t be the last recipe including the best bean of them all. But even if you don’t love chocolate like I do, can you really say no to a sticky chocolate cake? This cake also contains walnuts for some crunch and texture, and I serve it with a salty caramel sauce, because it is just yummy. A sprinkle of salt on the cake really adds a dimension of flavour that I’m sure you will enjoy. It’s not for everyday indulgence, but it’s a great finale of a dinner party! The sauce is not feautered on the video, but you can find the recipe at the bottom of this page. Button up your pants, take a deep breath, and eat a piece of chocolate heaven.

What you need:
150 g unsalted butter
250 ml sugar
150 ml cacao powder
0,5 teaspoon salt
1,5 teaspoons vanilla sugar
2 eggs
100 ml flour
100 g of dark chocolate
A handfull of walnuts

For serving:
Fresh raspberries
Vanilla ice cream
Salted Caramel Sauce

What you need:
100 g butter
300 ml sugar (you can use normal caster sugar, or brown, or muscovado, or a mixture)
100 ml cream
1 teaspoon sea salt

Stir butter and sugar together in a pot, let it melt together for a couple of minutes on low heat. Add the cream when the sugar is melted. Let it cook for a couple of minutes, the longer you let it simmer, the stickier it gets. But keep your eyes on it so it doesn’t burn. Stir in the sea salt when you are happy with the consistancy of the sauce! Let it cool of slightly and then eat it.
